The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championship has been shifted to Qatar from India, sources said on Monday.
The event was scheduled to be played in India in mid-October. But now, it has been shifted due to logistics issues.
The World Six Red Championship has also been shifted to Qatar from Malaysia.
The new dates for the World Snooker Championship will be announced soon.
It must be noted that the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2022 was won by Pakistan’s snooker prodigy Ahsan Ramzan in Doha, Qatar.
The young snooker sensation Ahsan impressed the world with his precision as he orchestrated an astounding comeback in the final against Iran’s Amir Sarkhosh from 4-2 down to eventually triumphing 6-5 and became the second-youngest — and the youngest Pakistani — cueist to seize the prestigious title.
Furthermore, Ahsan is only the third snooker player from Pakistan to win the international amateur world title after Muhammad Yousaf, who achieved the feat in 1994.
